Inclusive North CEO Appointed as Inaugural University of Lancashire Community Fellow

Inclusive North is delighted to congratulate our Chief Executive Officer, Naz Zaman, on being appointed as one of the University of Lancashire's inaugural Community Fellows.

The Community Fellows programme recognises respected leaders from Lancashire's voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sectors who have made significant contributions to their communities. Through this initiative, the University aims to strengthen partnerships with community organisations, encourage knowledge sharing, and ensure that lived experience and community leadership continue to shape education, research and civic engagement across the county.

Naz joins a distinguished group of leaders from organisations across Lancashire who have dedicated their careers to supporting communities, championing inclusion and driving positive social change. The inaugural Community Fellows include representatives from organisations such as Voluntary Sector North West (VSNW), Blackburn with Darwen CVS, Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale CVS, Community Futures and other leading organisations from across the region.

As CEO of Inclusive North, Naz has worked tirelessly to advance racial justice, strengthen community partnerships and amplify the voices of racially minoritised communities. Under her leadership, Inclusive North continues to support individuals, grassroots organisations and strategic partners through collaborative programmes, advocacy, capacity building and initiatives that promote equality and inclusion across Lancashire and beyond.

The appointment reflects not only Naz's personal commitment to community leadership but also recognises the vital role that the voluntary and community sector plays in addressing inequalities, influencing policy and creating opportunities for people from all backgrounds.

Speaking about the appointment, Naz said:

"It is an honour to be recognised as one of the University of Lancashire's inaugural Community Fellows. This appointment reflects the collective efforts of our staff, trustees, partners and the communities we work alongside every day. I look forward to strengthening our relationship with the University and continuing to champion racial justice, equality and meaningful community engagement."

The Community Fellows programme will provide opportunities for Fellows to work alongside students, academic staff and researchers, sharing their expertise and helping to shape future learning and community-focused initiatives. By bringing together leaders from across Lancashire's VCFSE sector, the programme aims to build stronger links between higher education and the communities it serves.

At Inclusive North, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to see our Chief Executive recognised among Lancashire's leading community figures and look forward to the positive impact this partnership with the University of Lancashire will bring.
