Lancashire County Council Day Centre Community Use Pilot – Expression of Interest Now Open


Lancashire County Council is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations to take part in a small-scale, 6-month pilot project exploring new ways of using Day Centre buildings.

This pilot is a collaborative and learning-focused opportunity designed to test how these spaces can be opened up for evening and weekend community activity. The aim is to support wellbeing, strengthen local connections, and explore how community-led activity could make better use of existing public spaces.


About the Pilot

The Day Centre Community Use Pilot will bring together local organisations and partners to trial new ideas and approaches for community use of existing buildings outside of traditional operating hours.

The focus of the pilot includes:

  • Increasing community access to local spaces in the evenings and weekends

  • Supporting wellbeing and reducing social isolation

  • Encouraging collaboration between local VCFSE organisations

  • Testing practical models for shared community space use

  • Gathering learning to inform future service development

This is a chance for organisations to help shape how community spaces could be used more effectively in the future.


Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is aimed at:

  • Voluntary organisations

  • Community groups

  • Faith-based organisations

  • Social enterprises (VCFSE sector)

It is particularly relevant to organisations already delivering or planning to deliver frontline community-based activity.


How to Apply

Organisations interested in taking part should complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form provided by Lancashire County Council.

Support and Information Session

An informal online drop-in session will be held to support interested organisations and answer any questions:
